  • How are the SapienStone slabs made?
    The base of the slab is made using natural mineral raw materials that are crushed and mixed together with water, the raw materials are then compressed at high bars of pressure this ensures that all excess air and water bubbles have been eliminated. Just before moulding the base is exposed to the dryer to ensure there is no unnecessary moisture. Once the base is placed in the mould the slab gets decorated using the latest design and texture technology. The slab is then placed in a kiln which reaches temperatures of over 1200° and then cooled.
  • What are the sizes and thicknesses of the SapienStone slabs?
    Our sizes vary based on thickness and are as follows: 12mm - 3280 x 1540 6mm - 3000 x 1500 or 3000 x 1000

  • Are SapienStone slabs scratch resistant?
    The technical aspects of the SapienStone slabs make it extremely resistant to scratches and impact. You can cut directly on the counter top and it won’t do any damage to the product. Like with other surfaces improper use and abuse can cause damage to the slabs.
  • Are SapienStone slabs heat resistant?
    SapienStone is baked at high temperatures which produces a durable surface that is able to handle heat. You can place your hot pots directly on the surface and it will not damage it.
  • What is porcelain?
    Porcelain is a high-quality engineered stone made from mineral oxides, feldspars, silica and kaolin clay, it is baked at high temperatures of between 1200 to 1400 °C, when it cools it hardens into a highly durable and superior surface.
  • Why are SapienStone slabs the preferred counter top choice?

  • What does full body effect mean?
    The latest technology allows the same colour and design to flow through the entire slab. The base colour matches the surface colour, creating an effect of continuity.
  • Will the SapienStone colours fade or discolour overtime?
    SapienStone slabs have been treated with a specific minerals which enables the slabs to be resistant to uv exposure, the darker colours will not fade and the whiter colours will not discolour.
  • How do I clean my SapienStone?
    SapienStone offers superior characteristics such as extreme compactness and non-porosity, which make it the ideal choice for a counter top. As this material is impenetrable, even the most difficult stains can be easily removed: not only oil, wine, sauces and coffee, but also acidic substances such as lemon, vinegar or residues of detergents can be cleaned off without effort. SapienStone products can be cleaned with ordinary soap and hot water and common cleaning products. SapienStone is also resistant to high ammonia based products and should only be used when trying to clean a stubborn mark.
